the number of days my personal Facebook has been deactivated; It’s the longest time I haven’t seen it since 2009.
One day (like many other times), I decided to deactivate it for no specific reason. I just felt a need to be free…reconnect to people around me in person.
I took this decision because I was emotionally exhausted of checking facebook during my free and not-so free time.
So what have I done with all my free time now?
I spend it with the people who matter most to me…my family; I cook, try new projects, travel, read…work to become the best version of me. I have also started using more other sites/apps like Tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram.
I really like Instagram because instead of having 180 friends (facebook), I have 60 people I really want to connect with. I will have to say that I do use a family facebook which I made for my family to see family (a total of 6) that way we won’t miss the pictures and thoughts of those closest to us.
It’s worked out for the best because I check it a couple of times a day for a couple of minutes. I think not having a personal facebook has also worked because I still connect with people through Instagram.
I’m not going to say I’ll never reactivate it because i’m a strong believer in the saying “never say never” but I can say that I like how everything is working out right now.
I don’t feel a need (addiction) anymore to be on Facebook or any other site/app. Free at last!
